History

STATRON AG was founded in Switzerland at the end of 1976. Today, the company is a leading international manufacturer of secured power supply systems. The technology and product portfolio of STATRON is the result of continuous decades of development work and continuous adaptation to the latest technological findings. This has set new standards in reliability and availability.

STATRON has production capacities and state-of-the-art test field environments covering more than 3,000 sm in Switzerland and Hungary, and has access to a multidisciplinary research and development team. Over the last years, STATRON has been marking progressive growth in sales and profits. Through its 9 subsidiaries and 200 employees STATRON has highly invested in local sales and service organizations in many countries around the world strengthening its international position.

Significant milestones

1976 Incorporation of the company with the purpose to produce and deliver uninterruptable power supply systems
1977 First major orders for the French railway system and a Nestle subsidiary in Saudi Arabia
1978 Major cooperation contract with Brown Boveri (ABB today)
1986 Exclusive contract with Nife (Saft today) for the distribution of Ni-Cd batteries for the Swiss market
1999 Foundation of STATRON Austria Ltd., and takeover of Andre Technologies SA in Ecublens, Switzerland
2001 STATRON is exclusive supplier for Ground Power Units at the Geneva Airport, Switzerland
2002 Relocation to the new premises in Mägenwil, Switzerland
2002 - 2005 Significant expansion with foundation of the following subsidiaries:
- STATRON B.V. in Lijnden, Netherlands
- STATRON Hungary Power Systems in Budapest, Hungary
- STATRON UK Ltd. in Berkshire, UK
- Stavolt Non-Stop Power Ltd. in Ettlingen, Germany
- STATRON Middle East in Dubai, UAE
2007 Frame contract with Alstom Power (GE today) for AC and DC Systems
2008 Significant expansion of facilities at the headquarter in Mägenwil
2009 Frame contract with Siemens Corp. for the supply of AC and DC Systems
2010 Further extension of the subsidiaries with foundation of:
- STATRON India Pvt. Ltd. in Hyderabad, India
- STATRON Asia Pacific Sdn. Bhd. in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
2012 Management change for the successful implementation of the planned growth strategy
2017 Market introduction of the rectifier / battery charger BDTe as new and significantly improved battery charger for UPS-DC applications
