Project: Offshore wind farm
Location: North Sea

Crosswind, a joint venture between Shell and Eneco, is developing a large offshore wind farm 18.5 kilometres off the west coast of The Netherlands. The wind farm consists of 69 turbines of 11 MW each, for a total capacity of 759 MW. In addition to energy production, this innovative project introduces new, innovative technologies. In the Base Load Power Hub (BLPH), the energy produced is stored and fed into the grid when needed. A combination of hydrogen (long-term storage) and battery storage (BESS) will be used to store the energy.

The HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park is the largest solar park based on an Independent Power Producer (IPP) model in the world. By 2030, the plant will be able to produce 5’000 MW. By the time it is completed, it will save over 6.5 million tons of carbon emissions annually and turn Dubai into a global center for clean energy and sustainable development.

With the completion of the sixth phase, a total of 2.36 million tons of carbon emissions will be reduced annually and over half a million homes in Dubai will have access to clean energy.

By offering it’s most reliable battery charger model “BDTe” (rating = 110 V, 650 A), Statron was successful in securing the package for the equipment of the Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) Systems for phase 6 of the solar park.

Statron was successful in winning the package with Larsen & Toubro Limited. This demonstrates Statrons expertise and dedication in the renewable energy sector.

It is our privilege to contribute to the advancement of sustainable energy solutions.

In the coming year, the Canton of Aargau Mobile Police building and its data center will undergo an important update. A total of 200 batteries will be replaced to ensure the required autonomy time.

The data center houses our systems, including 2xS7300-200KVA and 2x2x50 Fiamm 12FLB450P, whose batteries were installed in 2020. Also in use are 2xS7300-250KVA with 2x2x50 Fiamm 12FLB540 lead batteries, whose batteries were installed in 2015.

The batteries to be replaced have already been in use for 8 years and during the annual maintenance by our technician it was found that the required autonomy time was no longer achieved. In 2020, the first battery bank was successfully replaced at the customer’s site, and now the replacement of another 200 batteries is imminent to ensure the optimal performance of the data center.

Opened in September 2003, Dock E provides space for up to 27 wide-body aircraft and was a key component of the fifth construction phase. The 500-meter-long and 24-meter-wide building is located between the three runways and is capable of handling 27 aircraft simultaneously, including two stands for long-haul Airbus A380 aircraft.

The “aging” 400Hz frequency converters of the aircraft power supply need to be replaced after more than 20 years in operation. This will ensure the power supply at the gate for the next few years.

Within the scope of a call for tenders, Statron AG was able to prevail over three competitors and was selected by the engineering and project management of Flughafen Zürich AG for the delivery of a total of 41 new 400 Hz converter systems (ground power units) for the 25 gates at dock E. The new systems will be installed at the gates of the airport. The 400 Hz converter systems are used to supply the aircraft with electricity. With an output of 90 kVA each, they supply the aircraft with power while they are docked at the gate and passengers can board and disembark. Statron AG supplied the first 400 Hz converter systems for the opening and initial equipping of Dock E in 2003 and is extremely proud to be able to replace them with new systems based on the highest technical standards after 22 years of successful, flawless operation and in close cooperation with Flughafen Zürich AG.

The NEOM project, a planned city in Saudi Arabia, is a key component of the country’s Vision 2030 initiative, which aims to diversify the economy and promote sustainability on social, economic, and environmental levels incorporate a range of innovative technologies, including green hydrogen plants, solar-powered desalination plants, and urban air mobility systems which represent a ‘new future’ for people across the globe.

The Saudi Arabian electricity generation, transmission, distribution and smart-grid power sectors continue on a growth path in order to keep up with growing electricity demand and NEOM represents a significant opportunity for Saudi Arabia to reposition itself as a driving force in the global transition to renewable energy and sustainable urbanization.

Overview:

  • NEOM Authority requires power supply for NEOM South Project which will be implemented and executed by the National Grid Saudi Arabia.
  • The PROJECT consists of constructing 2 Nos. of new 132/33 kV NICS PSSA & PSSB Substations and STATRON will support with our owned State of art technology of Uninterruptible Power Supply with battery backup for the mission critical application.

STATRON is excited about this opportunities which drives the Kingdom’s mission and vision for higher power efficiency.

Last week, the first kickoff meeting of this major project took place together with our suppliers and end customers at the power plant site. Statron Austria is looking forward to the new challenges and is supplying not only the high quality energy storage systems from our partner Freqcon, but also the complete grid connection with transformers, medium voltage switchgear and cabling. We look forward to realizing further projects of this kind.

EVN’s most modern and efficient thermal power plant is still an indispensable cornerstone of the security of supply in Lower Austria. In addition to electrical energy, district heating for Gedersdorf and the city of Krems is also generated in Tisza. Currently, the thermal power plant Theiß with 430 MW provides grid stabilization in critical grid situations.

Within the SEKOHS Theiß project, a hybrid energy storage system consisting of a 5 MW battery energy storage system with a usable energy content of 3.5 MWh from Statron and a 5 MW P2H system will be installed on the 110 kV grid level. The energy provided will primarily be made available on the market for balancing power.

Statron sponsors a Spitex Mobile vehicle to support families with disabled children. Caring for a disabled child at home can be very stressful. That is precisely why it is important for them to “get out” regularly and experience something together.

This often requires a specially converted large-capacity car. This is the only way to transport a reclining buggy or a wheelchair – normal vehicles have no room for them. And even converted cars offer no more space for siblings or luggage after stowing the reclining buggy or wheelchair. So joint outings are virtually impossible. The Spitex-Mobile relief vehicles are available to families with disabled children, adults or organizations that cater to people with disabilities, even for longer periods of time.

This form of support is important for Statron, as we have a social responsibility for our environment. We are glad that we can help Spitex.

Maintenance of the reliable power supply UPS system S2000 by Statron since 2016.

The Observatorio del Teide is an observatory on Mount Izaña. It is located on the island Tenerife at an altitude of 2’400 meters above sea level. The observatory belongs to the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias and it forms together with the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory the European Northern Observatory. The Leibnitz Institute for Solar Physics, headquartered in Freiburg, is very active at the observatory. The sensitive research facilities must of course be continuously and reliably supplied with electrical energy. This is where quality and reliability count. This is where Statron comes into play. Statron is a globally recognized manufacturer and supplier of high-quality systems for uninterruptible power supply (UPS). The power supply in the observatory has been secured by a Statron UPS since 2016. The system of type «S2000» has a capacity of 40 kVA. The first service interval had to be carried out after approx. 5 years of operation. The inspection by Statron specialists did not reveal any complaints about the system. This means a reliable power supply for the observatory in the years to come. Once more it could be seen that relying on quality by Statron has paid off for the end customer.
